I am a strong believer in personal development and am looking for residual income business opportunity that will allow me to make extra income from home.
Any ideas along that line? I hate lotion/potion companies (as do my friends and family) so, any ideas/suggestions along the lines of internet marketing?

I found something that basically describes what you were looking for (asking about) as far as earning extra income & earning residual income is concerned.
It is a network marketing company that is based on self help and personal development. The guy you see in the video is Jason Cardamone, a good friend of mine… and he is doing incredibly well with Success University. I would recommend checking it out if it is something up your ally… for sure!

I am looking for real business, real earning, earn money through internet and not by cheating other people.

I will share briefly the a few ways that I make a good monthly income from Internet. Anything that I do, doesn't cost any money to start (other than buying items to sell on EBay) and I can work at my own pace. I will post at the bottom of the links that I used to get started, these links give more in depth information
(1) I sell items on EBay and on a local auction site. Most of my items comes from yards sales, flea markets, discount bins at local stores, etc. I sell larger items locally, less shipping charges etc. Most customers will gladly pick up the items. Sometimes I buy items from the local site just to sell on EBay. You can get the same type of information that some people offer for sale just by checking out the Ebay site for free!

(2) Real money can be made by having your own website / blog. It takes a little time and effort but if correctly done correctly, you can make extra money even when you are off the computer. That is the best thing about the Internet, it is open 24/7 and available worldwide
(3) I make a little extra money by doing simple things like surveys, "reading emails", etc. I spend about an 1/2 hour a night doing this. I prefer "reading emails" because it takes less time, I just visit a link that is provided and wait for a timer to expire and move onto another link.

I hear about this stuff all the time, but how many people do you need to actually make some decent money. I mean do I need a 1,000 people under me to make $30,000 a year? I've done the research and it sounds like it's a great product.

It's definitely not something you can quit your job over.

When a newcomer to promoting a web business or starting a work at home business online begins this venture what are the most common mistakes they make? This would include any business that involves internet marketing but especially the work from home income opportunity type.

The failure to modify, and test.

You MUST, and I do mean MUST… Test your strategies, looking at the results, and then make modifications again and test again.

Also, most people come into the business with the theory, I'm going to start making $10,000 this month. Unless they have a huge budget to start with, it's not going to happen.

Internet marketing is a game of education, practice, testing, and as my fiancee tells me "Try and Try Until Success".

I spend a fair amount of money on education every month, simply because I don't want to learn all of it by trial and error.

But even with everything I've learned, I still test, and test, and test.. and try new things, and change that, and keep on keeping on..

You see, internet marketing is truly the kind of business where muscle (money) is not as important as your knowhow and brain power. Internet marketing is truly the smartest way to make money online and it only demands one thing: knowledge.

I am looking for a unique way to make money this summer. I don't want it to be too common like baby sitting.

Besides baby sitting, a good thing to earn money at your age i think would be to walk dogs, Wash dogs, Pet sit, Wash cars (Maybe..?) And possibly become a tutor. That's all that i can really think of, sorry

There are various ways you can make money from home. In most cases, however, you will probably need to invest some cash. I cannot think of many businesses that you can start without spending something to get up and going.
